The South Dakota Bureau of Information and Telecommunications (BIT) has specific standards for web development design in order to provide an accessible web presence that enables the public full access to South Dakota government information and services. The state government follows the W3C recommendations and the federal government’s Section 508 Standards.
Public Accommodation Laws
No person can be denied the right to the full and equal use of any public accommodation or public service in South Dakota because of disability.
Violation Penalties
Plaintiffs may recover both compensatory and punitive damages.
