Equidox Emerges as Independent Entity

Future Roadmap Focuses On Automated PDF Accessibility Solutions

Cleveland, OH (August 24, 2022) — Today, Equidox announces its elevation as an independent company, Equidox Software Company, following the acquisition of Onix Networking, its parent company, by Tailwind Capital. Equidox is now focusing on growth by increasing its sales and marketing efforts.

“We are excited about the company’s potential for expansion going forward,” said Tim Needles, CEO of Equidox and Onix co-founder. “Scaling our company means being able to help more organizations provide accessible documents to more assistive technology users. No person should be excluded from an organization’s products or services. PDF accessibility is a challenge we can solve.”

Equidox provides easy-to-use PDF remediation software and services for universities, government agencies, and organizations of every size. The software’s accessibility tools are designed for anyone to quickly learn and use, regardless of their prior accessibility experience or skills.

Additionally, the fast-growing software company offers custom high-volume solutions for organizations producing large quantities of similar documents such as statements or recurring reports, also known as batch processing. These automated solutions are integrated into the PDF production process to seamlessly generate accessible PDFs, on demand.

With increased investment, Equidox continues to expand resources and expertise that push the boundaries of automated PDF accessibility. While other software tools present overly complex, time-consuming platforms, Equidox offers a combination of automated tools and user-friendly editing options that solve PDF accessibility issues.

“Equidox development focuses on integrating automation into PDF remediation to streamline and simplify the work,” Ryan Pugh, Director of Accessibility, explained. “We provide both self-serve software and custom high-volume solutions. Our software uses automated machine learning tools that simplify the most time-consuming aspects of PDF accessibility while providing the ability to edit the results to ensure full compliance. Our High Volume Solutions are custom built for each customer, designed for organizations such as banks and healthcare companies that produce thousands of nearly identical PDFs each month. Those solutions are fully automated and accurate.”

In this next phase of growth, Equidox will also focus on expanding its sales and development teams to more than double the number of regional experts across the country. This expansion will increase the total number of its team by approximately 50%.

“Equidox has many automation projects in development to dramatically reduce the time it takes to make PDFs accessible. Enhancing our team means we can more quickly implement the ground-breaking ideas our data scientists are developing,” says Pat Needles, Vice President of Sales. “We’re excited about what the future holds for our team and our customers.”
