Kansas State Digital Accessibility Requirements

Kansas has developed  information and communication technology accessibility standards known as ITEC (Information Technology Executive Council) 1210, which ensures accessibility and usability by individuals with disabilities. These standards are developed to implement Section 508.  ICT (Information and communication technology) that is procured, developed, maintained, or used by [Kansas state] entities—including that produced internally; developed or provided through contractual, licensing, or other arrangements; provided by third parties on behalf of state entities; or purchased—shall conform to the Functional Performance Criteria and Technical Requirements of the Revised 508 Standards.

Public Accommodation Laws

To prevent discrimination in relation to free and public accommodations, the purpose of Kansas Acts Against Discrimination is to establish and to provide a state commission having the power to eliminate and prevent segregation and discrimination, or separation in all places of public accommodations covered by this act because of disability.
