We are looking for a Linux System Engineer with a strong passion for building scalable and robust systems targeting both on-premise and cloud environments.
As a Linux System Engineer at Equidox, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Linux-based solutions for on-premise and cloud-based systems. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and performance of our enterprise-level solutions.
Key Responsibilities
System Design and Architecture: Collaborate with the development team to design and architect Linux-based systems for high-volume batch processing in a cloud environment, ensuring scalability, security and performance.
Act as a focal point for integrations in on-premise or cloud environments.
Development
Write clean, maintainable code to implement Linux-based solutions that handle batch processing tasks efficiently. This may involve shell scripting, system administration, and integration with cloud services.
Documentation
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures to support knowledge transfer and training.
Monitoring and Reporting
Set up monitoring systems and generate regular reports on system performance, utilization, and security to proactively address any issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Required Skills and Experience
- 5-10 years of proven experience in Linux-based system development and administration.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation and system maintenance.
- Familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform
- Be responsible for VMware-based virtual platforms and solutions.
- Experience with TCP/IP networking and routing
- The ideal candidate will be experienced with the Python programming language.
- Knowledge of batch processing systems and technologies is a plus.
Experience with system optimization, performance tuning, and system hardening
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Security-conscious mindset and familiarity with security best practices.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux-based components within the overall software solution.
